Trauma Informed Yoga: An Introductory Training for Yoga Teachers and Workshop

Are you ready to refine your teaching skills and gain a deeper way of relating to your student's physical and emotional bodies?  

In this training, you will:

1.  Access an introductory version of the most updated neurobiological research on trauma and how it affects the physical body,

2. Learn how it can show up in your students' behaviors and physical practices,

3. Learn the basic tenets of invitational language and non-coercive teaching,

4. Acquire at least three concrete suggestions/ tools that you can implement immediately to make your classes trauma-informed. 

This training is eligible for 3 CE credits through the Yoga Alliance

Embodied Trauma: Integrating Trauma-Informed Yoga into Therapy

This program will explore the value of yogic practices in the clinical setting, particularly when treating complex trauma. The complexity of embodied trauma will be explored, as well as the benefits of utilizing yoga as an adjunctive element in clinical practice. There will be a short seated experiential trauma-informed yoga practice appropriate for participants with no previous yoga experience. No mats or special clothing are necessary. 

Objectives: 

1. Participants will learn the integral role of the body in trauma treatment

2. Participants will understand the benefits of integrating yoga into clinical work

3. Participants will learn the core components of the THRIVE trauma-informed yoga model

4. Participants will be given concrete ideas to of how to safely introduce yoga into therapeutic work with groups and individuals

$25 per person, $40 for CEU's
